A delegation from the Consulate General of Japan in Qingdao led by the Consul General Toyama Shigeru visited Shandong University on March 9. During their visit, they participated a seminar entitled “Sino-Japan Economic Relationship and Their Future Development” and exchanged views with the faculties and students. Hu Jinyan, Vice President of Shandong University, met the guests.
During the meeting, Hu introduced the academic communications with Japan in recent years. He said the internationalization of the Qingdao Campus in the future will certainly encourage academic exchanges between the two sides. He hoped that the Consulate General would continue to support Shandong University by introducing and strengthening academic connections with distinguished universities in Japan. Toyama Shigeru on his part indicated that as the Consul General, he would certainly promote the academic interactions between Shandong University and Japanese universities.
Toyama Shigeru also gave a brief talk about the status-quo of Sino-Japan economic exchanges and cooperation, and introduced potential areas for future exchange, followed by a discussion with faculties and students from the School of Economics, School of Political Science and Public Administration, and School of Foreign Languages and Literature.
