Abstract:

In this talk, we will discuss the arithmetic quantum unique ergodicity (AQUE) conjecture of Rudnick and Sarnak. This QUE problem concerns the mass equidistribution of automorphic forms on the hyperbolic surfaces, and aims to understand the limiting behavior of Laplacian eigenfunctions. We'll describe this problem in number theoretic setting and present its connection with the analytic properties of automorphic L-functions.

Bio:

Dr. Zhao Peng graduated from School of Mathematics, Shandong University for his bachelor degree in 1999 and for his mater degree in 2002. After completing his Ph.D. from Ohlo State University, he worked in several universities or research institutes such as University of Connecticut (UCONN), Yale University and Princeton University. At present, Zhao teaches at Indiana State University. His main research interests include the analytic theory of number and spectral theory of automorphic form.
