While sending off the old year and ringing in the new one, SDU international students of the Overseas Top Economic and Financial Talents Training Program of China Development Bank (CDB) attended the Spring Festival Gala and Spring Festival Video Gathering held by China Development Bank Shandong Branch. Yu Zeshui, a member of the Shandong University Board of Trustees and also the Director of the Shandong Branch of China Development Bank, celebrated the Chinese Lunar New Year with the students.

During the celebration, Yu extended his Spring Festival greetings to the international students and wished them good health and academic success in the coming semester. The students were able to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional New Year Festival. During the spring festival gala on January 18th, the international students performed dances and solo of songs. They also watched lively skits and tasted great food in a friendly and festive setting. At the video gathering on January 19th, the international students expressed their gratitude to the financial aid from China Development Bank and wished the staff of CDB a happy new year.

Recently, Shandong University has partnered with the China Development Bank so sponsor academic programs for international students, and these programs have thus far been a success. Through the Overseas Top Economic and Financial Talents Training Program, CDB provides full scholarship for international students, and Shandong University provides the educational training. Now, Shandong University along with CDB is trying to build this program into an overseas talents training brand that continues cooperation and carries forward the Chinese culture to the rest of the world.

On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Shandong University, CDB set scholarship at SDU, which is one of the four universities nationwide that independently evaluates students' performance and distributes the scholarship.
