On June 3, 2018, an Iftar feast was organized and hosted by Pakistani community at Shandong University, Qingdao Campus. Every Muslim student at SDU Qingdao campus, irrespective of their nationality, was invited. Students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, Yemen, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kenya and Afghanistan participated in this activity.
We are also pleased to show our gratitude to the SDU administration for providing us all the necessary facilities and giving us a chance to celebrate this event soulfully. It make us all feel at home while living far away from our homes and families.
Different food items like samosas, pakoras, fruit salad, shahi tukras, sandwiches, dates, and different kinds of traditional drinks, were prepared by various groups whichare divided according to their unique cultures. It was planned and executed to represent versatile and beautiful cultures of Pakistan. We would like to say thanks to Hamza, Noor Muhammad Sarkar, Samander, and other international students who acknowledged and appreciated our little effort. We are also thankful to the Chinese friends who gifted us cherries from their hometowns, and in the last but not least, the dorm administration who always facilitates and assists the students at every cultural event.
Following are some glimpses covering the event from the preparations to a happy and cheerful ending:
As the regional president along with my community, I would like to show my gratitude and say thank you to everybody for showing your love as one single unit. The dorm makes me feel like home. We hope that we will have more celebrations together, adding colours to life while living in Shandong University, Qingdao Campus in a beautiful coastal city of China.
