A music and dance party for the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Shandong University was held in Jinan on Oct 15.

The theme of the party was "Nurture talent for the world, and seek prosperity for the nation". It consisted four parts: Born to Struggle (1901-1949); Forging Ahead (1949-1978); Reform and Innovation (1978-2012), and Strengthening the School and Rejuvenating the Country (2012-2021). 15 groups of programs were showcased.
The first part began with a melodious song which recreated a story of professors discussing the development of Shandong University.

The baritone solo "The Glimmer of the Red Candle" showed the models of Zang Kejia and Wen Yiduo praising their deep national spirit and patriotism.

The dance performance "Seagull in the Storm" recreated a group of young people who devoted themselves to the public and struggled to explore the future of national rejuvenation.
The second chapter showcased the achievements of great people and their struggle history.

The performance "Eight Horses in the Same Slot" reproduced the history of scholars' perseverance in the development of Shandong University.

The female solo "I'm Here to Count the Stars" told the story of multiple academic superstars such as Shu Xingbei, the inventor of radar, and Liu Xianzhi,the pioneer of mechanics.
The third part began with the performance "Climbing the Peak Bravely", which showed Shandong University's commitment to making breakthroughs and innovating to reach new heights.

The performance "We are holding hands" was a true portrayal of volunteers of Shandong University serving the grassroots.

The fourth part included a musical performance which recreated the struggle and contribution of national medical teams from the Qilu Hospital and the Second Hospital of Shandong University during the pandemic.

Most of the programs showcased in the party were all originally created, with students in Shandong University as the major actors.
A special video of the alumni association was also screened at the party, showing alumni's blessings to the alma mater.
