01 Salary
Special-Funded Fellowship
No less than 300,000 RMB/year
Young-Scholar Fellowship
No less than 200,000 RMB/year
Special-Program Fellowship
No less than 120,000 RMB/year
Furthermore, candidates who meet the qualifications set by the local government will receive an additional subsidy. For example, candidates based on Qingdao campus can receive a living allowance of 30,000 RMB per person and housing allowance of 30,000 RMB per person from the Qingdao government.
02 Other Benefits
Shandong University provides start-up funding for post-doctoral researchers and organizes international academic exchange programs for the post-doctoral fellows to encourage them to participate in high-level international academic activities.
The university provides apartments with favorable rent for eligible post-doctoral fellows.
The kindergartens and nursery schools near the various campuses have solid reputations in their respective communities. In Jinan, for example, there are three kindergartens and two elementary schools affiliated to Shandong University and one cooperative elementary school, all of which exemplify the very best in elementary education in Shandong Province. The Junior Middle School affiliated to Shandong University is one of the best in China. It ranked second among China’s 100 most influential junior schools in 2018.
Fellows in Special-Funded fellowships will have the opportunity to transfer to teaching positions after the completion of their post-doctoral work. They can participate in Young Talents selection programs, such as Qilu Young Talents. Fellows with Young-Scholar fellowships or Special-Program fellowships may apply for positions at Shandong University after the completion of their post-doctoral work.
The university has established the Post-doctoral Fellows Society which aims to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between post-doctoral fellows in various disciplines. It also attempts to promote communication between local communities and enterprises and our fellows. All kinds of post-doctoral academic forums and sessions for post-doctoral projects will be held every year.
